New information on acne scars and acne treatment revealed!

Acne scars are the end result of injury to a tissue. There are basically two types of acne scars: (1) depressed areas, and (2) raised areas. The human body has it's own acne treatment mechanism when a tissue is injured in your body, white blood cells rush to repair the area. Other inflammatory molecules also assist in repairing the area and fighting infection. The fibrous scar tissue that remains is essentially what we refer to as an acne scar.

The best way to treat acne and acne scars is not to pop, squeeze, or pick at at them. This will only spread inflammation and infection. You should wash your face twice a day with a mild cleanser and pat dry. The best way to clear acne is with appropriate acne treatment products and good skin care.

When buying cosmetics be sure they are noncomedegenic, meaning they do not clog pores. You should avoid hair care products that contain oil such as pomades or gels. Always use discretion when dealing with acne scars or any acne treatment program.  Dermatologist suggests you do not use tanning booths or sun lamps.
