Acne rosacea can be described as a chronic, long term inflammation. This skin condition is characterized by irritation, redness and swelling. The most noticeable symptom is skin thickening known as hyperplasia. Acne rosacea usually is most prevalent around the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead area. It is a skin condition found most often in females and Caucasians. Middle-aged and elderly people appear to be the most common age group affected.

The cause of acne rosacea is unknown. Rosacea is a skin condition which involves the dilation or enlargement of tiny blood vessels under the skin surface. Some of the more common symptoms include red rash (blotchy red areas over the affected face area), crusting layers of skin, flushing or blushing of the skin.

People with acne rosacea often have low self-esteem and usually exhibit some form of emotional disturbance. Rosacea is a skin condition best treated by eating a diet rich in vitamins and minerals, and you should not smoke or drink. Some antibiotics have been shown to be effective, one such antibiotic is called Tetracycline. It is recommended that you consult a Dermatologist if symptoms persist.
